Little Black Dress Fall Fête Returns to TMA Friday, September 10, 2004 The Tyler Museum of Art will be transformed back to the glamorous days of Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant on Friday, September 10, as the Museum celebrates its Little Black Dress event. According to Martha Key and Beth Whitney, co-chairs, this fall fundraiser for TMA will begin with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music followed by the Museum’s popular object auction. Twenty area artists have donated original lamps created especially for the evening, celebrating the theme “Light Up the Night!” All proceeds benefit Tyler Museum of Art programs and help fund exciting upcoming exhibitions such as The Eyes of Texas: The Lone Star State as Seen by Her Artists (opening September 17), and Miguel Zapata: Works From the Texas Studio (opening October 14). Wesley Beard will serve as auctioneer for the evening, and Loco Joe will provide the music. Tickets are $50 per person for TMA members, $60 per person for non-members. Sponsorships are available and range from $500 to $10,000. Artists for the evening include Martha Bain, Laurie Breedlove, Nancy Brodnax, Beth and Doug Brown, Casey Brownlow, Melissa DeCarlo, Patrick Deen, Teresa Farrish, Mary Lauren Faulkner, June Hillis, Wendy Himes, Polly Hitt, Joe Lessert, Becky Martin, Dede Menking, Bill Muscato, Sheryl Palmer, Cynthia Riter, Betty Summers, and Carrie White.
