Special Event–TMA Youth Art Month Family Day Sunday, March 13 2:00–4:00 The Tyler Museum of Art will host a special Youth Art Month Family Day on Sunday, March 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. The Family Day will feature a variety of hands-on art activities including the making of pinch pots using self-hardening clay, drawing with art pastels, and making picture frames. There will also be a treasure hunt for kids in the Bell Gallery where the exhibition Thirty-three Years of Collecting at the Tyler Museum of Art is currently on display. Robert Langham: Intimate Expanse and Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Woman's Cancer Journey are two other exhibitions also available for viewing. Refreshments will be served in the Museum lobby. All Family Day activities are free and open to the public. The Tyler Museum of Art is located on the east side of the Tyler Junior College campus at 1300 South Mahon. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Museum is closed Mondays and major holidays. |
