Tyler Museum of Art to Present Lecture by Dr. Wu Tung The Tyler Museum of Art will present a lecture entitled "The Jade Culture of China" this Thursday as part of the Museum's 2004 Lecture Series. The lecture by Dr. Wu Tung is in conjunction with the exhibition Treasures of Heaven and Earth: The Dr. James R. and Ann Peltier Collection of Carved Chinese Jade, which is on display at the Museum through September 26. Dr. Wu is the Matsutaro Shoriki Curator Emeritus of Asian Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and author of Tales from the Land of Dragons: 1000 Years of Chinese Painting. Prior to the MFA, Boston, Dr. Wu worked at the National Palace Museum in Taipei, the Cleveland Museum and the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City as the recipient of a Ford Foundation Grant. The lecture is free and open to the public. There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m. which precedes the presentation. The lecture will begin at 6:15 p.m. Please call 903-595-1001 for reservations.
